SUSITNA PLACE is in a quiet, downtown Anchorage location, on a bluff that overlooks Cook Inlet. The heart of Alaska’s largest city -- shops, restaurants and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail -- is a short, 10- to 15-minute walk from the bed and breakfast.
Decks and six-foot windows provide panoramic water and mountain views from both levels of the B&B, which derives its name from Mount Susitna, known locally as “Sleeping Lady.”
Nine rooms -- from a master suite to standard bedrooms with private or shared baths -- accommodate virtually any budget. Summer rates start at $125, plus 12 percent tax. Lower rates and long-term discounts are available before Memorial Day and after Labor Day weekends.
